Shoe fit

A different lace path can change the pressure.

Choose what you want to adjust, then follow the diagram one row at a time.

Runner’s loop for heel hold

Use the final eyelets to create two loops that draw the collar around the heel without tightening the entire shoe.

  1. Lace normally through the second-highest eyelet.
  2. Run each lace straight up through the final eyelet on the same side to form a small loop.
  3. Cross each lace through the opposite loop, pull back and down, then tie normally.

Know the limit

Laces fine-tune. Shoes still have to fit.

A lace pattern can redistribute pressure or improve hold. It cannot lengthen the shoe, widen the midsole, or change the last. Persistent pain, numbness, damaged nails, or skin breakdown deserves a closer look at the shoe and, when needed, professional care.
