Start from current consistency

The useful question is not only the race distance. It is how regularly you are running now, your recent longest run, your available days, and whether you are returning after a break.

A generous runway leaves room for gradual progress, recovery, travel, illness, and life. A shorter calendar does not make the body adapt faster.

Use milestones, not just a finish date

  • Choose a start date you can actually honor.
  • Mark tune-up events, travel, and demanding work or family weeks.
  • Schedule easier weeks and a reduced race-week workload.
  • Reassess if pain, illness, or missed weeks materially change the starting point.

Let the planner reveal the calendar

Build the date range first, then decide whether the available weeks match your current base and goal. A qualified coach or clinician can help when your history, health, or target calls for individualized advice.
